The Hopkins recording mentioned in the last post was originally part of an Argo 12" vinyl made in 1953. The other side contained a selections of poems by Keats. The entire recording is available, I find, as an MP3 download from Amazon.com in the USA and as an MP3 Audiobook from Audible.co (an Amazon.co.uk subsidiary) in Europe. Having now purchased and heard both sides, I can say that in my opinion the Keats is far superior, and indeed very fine. Her accent is magnificent, her voice an instrument almost too beautiful in some lyrical passages, and entirely seductive. "The Mermaid Tavern", "Fame", and the great Odes are memorable. Highly recommended.
